Chapter 15
Where I am there shall also my servent be
(John 12:26)
John 12:26:
If any man serve me, let him follow
me; and where I am, there shall also
my servant be: if any man serve me,
him will my Father favour.
In the East, the servents eat at the table with their
master, unless there are guests.
If a master and his five servants are traveling and they only have
one room provided for them, the master and all his servants will sleep
in the same room.
If the host gives the master a dish of fruit, He divides it among himself
and his servants.
When traveling he treats his servants as equals.
To "follow" Jesus as a servant starts by being
acutely sensitive to his gentle promptins in our lives. For example, the
Eastern servants were so familiar with their master that a command was
given by the slightest jester of eye contact. The master didn't have to
explain everything in detail, but only a nod or other body movement.
- Psalms 123:2
Behold, as the eyes of servants look
unto the hand of there masters, and as
the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of
her mistress; So our eyes wait upon
the Lord our God, until that He have
mercy upon us.
- The spirit's call for us today is also a slight
prompting in most cases, not a loud voice or or any other getter.
He shouldn't have to get our attention, we are to follow!
